Trade-Technical College students received hands-on training at a recent banquet at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel aimed at raising funds for the school’s scholarship program.
The scholarship program opens the door to Inner City youngsters who want to learn culinary skills as careers.
The students prepared black bean soup with salsa, in addition to smoked trout, filet mignon and scampi. Executives from the restaurant and from the food enterprises that lend their expertise and support to the school participated in the fund-raising event.
Established in 1941, Trade-Tech’s culinary program features instruction in chef training, professional baking and restaurant management. The school offers a two-year associate degree as well as the certificate of completion to the general public.
For information about the school’s program or the scholarship fund, call Alfredo Bonzo, assistant dean of the culinary program, at (213) 746-0800, Ext. 260.
