CBS News’ Denver correspondent, Bob McNamara, has involved himself in a little fracas with city officials. Reporting Monday on the city’s post-Super Bowl mood, McNamara called the Denver Broncos home turf “a town that’s never been No. 1 in anything but carbon monoxide levels.” Riposted Denver Mayor Federico Pena: “This would have been a good opportunity for CBS to go off the air for another seven minutes”--referring to a much-publicized incident last year when CBS News anchorman Dan Rather walked off the set and let the network go black. McNamara was unapologetic: “They say, ‘We’re No. 1 in a lot of things.’ What? Arena football?”
