Knight-Ridder Inc. said its profit rose 10.8% for all of 1987. The Miami-based media company said its net income rose to $155.2 million on revenue of $2.07 billion, up 8.5% from 1986. The company said operating income rose 8.4% for the year in its newspaper division but fell 35% to $14.5 million in broadcasting. “Classified advertising in our newspapers was a major positive factor in our earnings growth in 1987,” said Robert F. Singleton, senior vice president and chief financial officer.
