L.A. Police Patrols and Fatal Gang Shooting in Westwood

The photograph of Karen Toshima lying sprawled out on a Westwood sidewalk is appalling and disgusting. However, I hope it does some good to let the public know there is a great problem out there in our cities with these gangs thinking they can go and do whatever they damn well please.

I was in Westwood that night. Even though I tried to feel safe walking around in the presence of obvious hoodlums, I felt terribly uncomfortable the whole night. I feel even more uncomfortable since the shooting because the public cannot safely enjoy going out of doors for fear of the bad guys out there. I won’t be visiting Westwood for shopping, movie going or just walking around. It’s just not safe.
