Subjective Reality

Enough of those letters debating whether David Letterman is funny or not (Calendar Letters, Jan. 31, 17, 10 and 3).
I have been a faithful Letterman viewer since his show began, and in my opinion he is the consistently funniest person on television.
With four new shows a week, his hits far outnumber his misses. Judging by his immense popularity, most people agree with me. However, there will always be those angry letters from people who feel left out because they just don’t see what everyone else is laughing about.
Isn’t it always the case?
Let me simply advance the new, ground-breaking theory that comedy is subjective. Why, so is music, and so are films. I really think I’m on to something here!
