Prep Basketball : Marinovich, Waikle Lead Cougars, 54-37

Todd Marinovich and Jim Waikle scored 12 points each to lead Capistrano Valley High School to a 54-37 victory over Dana Hills in a South Coast League game Saturday night at Capistrano Valley.
Scott McCorkle added 11 points and Charles Lockard 10 for the Cougars (20-4 overall, 8-0 in league play). Tyrone Meixsel led Dana Hills (9-13, 2-6) with 12 points.
In the Olympic League:
Orange Lutheran 63, Capistrano Valley Christian 40--Geoff MacArthur had 16 points and Pat Bagatourian 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead the host Lancers (14-6, 9-2). Kirk Liddle had 16 points for Capistrano Valley Christian, 5-6 in league.
Whittier Christian 59, Brethren 54--Erik Martin had 26 points to lead Whittier Christian at home.
