Herman (Rory) Calhoun, noted 1950s middleweight boxer, died Friday at Kaiser Hospital in Hollywood after a brief illness. Calhoun, 53, appeared on many nationally televised bouts in the late 1950s, against boxers such as Carl (Bobo) Olson, Joey Giardello, Florentino Fernandez, Joey Giambra and Dick Tiger.
