The buying duel for Orion Pictures stock continued with a group led by entrepreneur John Kluge reporting that it raised its holding to 25.5% from 21.9% as of Jan. 20. In comparison, Sumner M. Redstone, owner of Viacom International, reported earlier this week that it held 26.8% of Orion and that it has filed for federal antitrust clearance to increase the figure to 36%. Kluge, head of Metromedia, is considered to be close to Orion’s top management. Some securities analysts speculate that the duel will lead to a fight for control of Orion.
