Local News in Brief : Westminster : Funeral Services for Mayor Gillespie Today

Funeral services for Mayor Elden F. Gillespie are scheduled today at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Westminster.
Gillespie, 71, died Saturday, apparently of heart failure after a five-month bout with cancer.
Mayor Pro Tem Chuck V. Smith has been asked to speak on behalf of the Gillespie family during the services.
Burial will be at Westminster Memorial Park.
The City Council has canceled a meeting with the Board of Trustees of the Westminster Elementary School District that had been scheduled for tonight, Smith said.
