SAN DIEGO — The San Diego State women’s volleyball program has signed three high school players to national letters of intent.
Shannon Mathew, Dina Jones and Carolyn Kaspar confirmed Wednesday that they will attend SDSU this fall.
Mathew, a 6-foot 2-inch middle blocker from Agoura High School in Westlake, also was recruited by Cal State Long Beach.
Jones, a 6-0 middle blocker from Reagan High School in Austin, Tex., was among the top high school players in the country invited to the U.S. Volleyball Assn.’s Elite Camp last summer.
Kaspar, a 5-9 outside hitter from Bonanza High School in Las Vegas, was recruited by USC, Arizona State, Colorado State and California.
SDSU does not plan to sign any other players.
United States International University has not signed any volleyball players, a spokesman said, but Coach Kurt Donaldson hopes to take a look at prospects at a junior tournament in Las Vegas this weekend.
