Psst, film fans, can we talk?
But, very quietly, and look cool, too. Now, what did you really think of “The Dead”?
We all agree that John Huston lived a majestic life, leaving behind an artistic legacy to thrill and enlighten future generations. And there’s no question that daughter Anjelica is a wonderful actress and that son Tony has literary credentials.
But afterward, did you pass on the Tex-Mex and go searching for cooked goose? Maybe if “Andre” had been invited to that dinner . . .
So, despite its inclusion on almost every 10 Best list and at the risk of being branded a disrespectful Philistine, allow me to whisper a humble dissenting opinion: “The Dead” is an uninvolving, lethal bore.
