Jarle Halsnes of Norway, a three-time world champion, defeated Joerg Seiler of Switzerland to win the giant slalom in the $50,000 Winterfest at Snow Summit in Big Bear Lake.
Max Julen of Switzerland, the 1984 Olympic gold medalist in the giant slalom, took third by defeating Edvin Halsnes, Jarle’s brother, for third place.
It was Jarle’s second win of the season. He won the slalom last week at Boyne Highlands, Mich.
