Baldwin Hills : Planning Board Established

Los Angeles Councilwoman Ruth Galanter has established a 15-member community planning board to advise her on development issues in the Baldwin Hills and Crenshaw communities.
The planning board is the first established by the councilwoman since she took office last year. She plans similar boards to cover the Westchester, Mar Vista and Venice communities in her 6th District.
“During my campaign, I proposed the creation of citizen task forces to give the community input in planning its future,” she said. “For the Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw community, the future means economic development.”
Galanter said the Crenshaw area, unlike the communities in the western portion of her district, is seeking more economic development. She said the board will assist her in charting the course of such development proposals.
The board will have regular meetings to review development proposals, building permits and issues such as traffic, air and water quality in the Crenshaw and Baldwin Hills communities.
The board’s members are: Evelyn Bringier, H. Eric Crumpton, Dr. C. Henike Dudley, Joseph Epps, Lark Galloway-Gilliam, Frank Holoman, Betty Davis-Walker, Mike Watanabe, Joe Hubbard, Millard Tatum, Louis Joel, Victor Parker, Felix E. Leatherwood, Eudoro Russell and Dorothy Bradley Thigpen.
