Local News in Brief : Housing ‘Bonus’ Approved
- Share via
The Redondo Beach City Council amended the city’s General Plan this week to include a policy to allow higher densities for housing projects aimed at the elderly or low- and moderate-income people.
The “density bonus” policy was approved to encourage new developments or the conversion of existing housing for the two groups, according to a staff report.
The city’s multiple-family residential density zones previously allowed between 16 and 23 units per acre. With the bonuses, the city would allow a minimum of 20 to 30 units per acre.
