A lotto player who bought a ticket in a Pacoima grocery store has won more than $4 million, but has not stepped forward to claim the prize.
The winning ticket was bought between Monday and Wednesday at Mercado del Valle on Glenoaks Boulevard during the last four days, said store owner Oscar Herrera.
The winner of the $4,018,380 jackpot has 180 days to claim the money, said a state lottery spokeswoman. He or she will receive the money in yearly increments of $140,000 over the next 20 years, the lottery official said.
Winning numbers were announced Wednesday night and publicized in various California newspapers Thursday.
If the money is not claimed within 180 days, it must be turned over to the state education fund. Only one prize of more than a million dollars has not been claimed since the state lottery was established Oct. 3, 1985, the spokeswoman said.
