CBS’ Paley Critically Ill 8 Days After Operation

NEW YORK — William S. Paley, founder and chairman of CBS, was in critical condition Friday, eight days after undergoing an emergency gallbladder operation, officials at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center said.
“Mr. Paley is in the intensive care unit with lung and kidney failure following emergency surgery,” spokesman Jonathan Weil said. Paley, 86, entered the hospital on Feb. 8 and underwent gallbladder surgery three days later.
