Millionaire in Bouquet Bomb Case Sentenced

SAN FRANCISCO — A saga in which millionaire landlord Peter Pilaski was convicted with his homosexual lover in a bombing that injured his estranged wife ended Friday when Pilaski was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
A somber Pilaski, speaking in a heavy German accent, spoke to the court for the first time during his legal proceedings, which began with his arrest last August at his San Francisco home.
The prosecution drew a distorted picture of him “as a cold-blooded murderer,” he said.
He maintained his innocence and said the only time he saw the bomb used in the attack was when the government displayed a replica during his trial.
“I never wanted to hurt my wife. I still don’t,” he said.
