Women’s Basketball Roundup : USC Routs Arizona, 92-69; UCLA Beats Arizona St., 83-62

Cherie Nelson scored 35 points, and Paula Pyers added 22 Friday night to lead USC to a 92-69 victory over Arizona in a Pacific 10 Conference women’s basketball game at Tucson.
The Trojans raised their record to 15-6 overall and 9-2 in the Pac-10. Arizona fell to 5-17 and 2-10.
Nelson also led all rebounders with 13. Top scorers for Arizona were Tammy Leikem and Dana Patterson with 23 points each.
UCLA 83, Arizona State 62--Dora Dome scored 23 points, and Michelle Wootton had a career-high 21 as the Bruins defeated the Sun Devils at Tempe.
The Bruins, 14-9 overall and 7-4 in the Pac-10, play Arizona tonight at Tucson. Shamona Mosley scored 14 points to lead the Sun Devils (7-14 and 2-10).
