Long Beach Is Trying for Win No. 15 Tonight

LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Cal State Long Beach, which hasn’t won 15 games since the 1980-81 season, will try to win its 15th tonight in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. game against New Mexico State.
The 49ers, 14-8 overall, are 8-5 and in fourth place in the PCAA. New Mexico State is 14-12 and 6-7.
Long Beach center DeAnthony Langston, who has shot 78.4% from the field in his last four games, is shooting 64.9% in PCAA games, second in the league.
New Mexico State’s Willie Joseph, who scored 25 points in a 75-67 loss to Long Beach earlier in the season, is averaging 15.8 points a game.
