Brea-Olinda 59, Garey 49--Sophomore Keith Walker’s 32 points paced Brea-Olinda (14-11) at Garey. Walker, brother of UCLA center Kevin Walker, also added nine rebounds.
Walker’s performance was evident in the second quarter when he scored Brea’s first five baskets, including three three-pointers, to give Brea a 25-22 halftime lead.
Walker, a 6-4 forward, had 15 of Brea’s 17 points in the second quarter as Brea outscored Garey, 17-15.
Garey center Marcus Anderson kept his team in the game with 23 points and 13 rebounds.
Brea plays Saddleback in the second round. Garey finishes 13-12.
