Adam Keefe scored a career-high 47 points and had 22 rebounds to lead Woodbridge High School to a 79-61 victory over Elsinore Friday in an opening-round game of the Southern Section 2-A boys’ basketball playoffs at Woodbridge.
Keefe, a 6-foot 9-inch center who has already signed a national letter of intent to attend Stanford, scored 35 of his team’s 42 second-half points. Keefe had 18 points in the third quarter and 17 in the fourth.
“I may have played better games all around, but this is my best shooting night,” Keefe said.
It was the 13th consecutive victory for Woodbridge (19-5), which won the Pacific Coast League.
Elsinore, the third-place team in the Sunkist League, was led by center Mike Barber, who scored 22 points. Elsinore ends the season at 22-9.
Woodbridge is the defending 2-A champion and the Division II state champion.
