Lolly Figueroa was 2 for 3 with a grand slam to lead Rancho Santiago College to a 7-0 victory over El Camino in a nonconference softball game Monday at El Camino.
Lisa Pedersen and Christa Lawson both had two hits for the Dons (3-2). Dawn Robertson (1-1) allowed four hits and struck out four in seven innings.
In other nonconference games:
Golden West 6, Orange Coast 0--Jessica Duran (2-2) pitched a four-hitter to lead Golden West at home. Jennifer Pattinson was 4 for 4 and scored twice to help Golden West, which scored four runs in the first inning.
Rio Hondo 3, Cypress 1 (11 innings)--Rio Hondo got four of its seven hits in the 11th inning to score three runs at Cypress. Noel Parker and Priscilla Villagomez each had two hits to lead Cypress (2-4). Rio Hondo is 4-2-1.
In nonconference baseball:
Cypress 6, MiraCosta 4--Tim Churchill was 2 for 4 with three RBIs, Rod DeYoung was 2 for 4 and John Mele was 2 for 3 to lead Cypress (10-1).
Jeff Peterson (2-0) allowed seven hits and struck out two in seven innings for Cypress.
In Orange Empire Conference golf:
Saddleback 380, Palomar 384, San Diego Mesa 394, San Diego City 407--Saddleback’s John Waldrup shot a 72 to win the tournament at Lake San Marcos Golf Course at San Marcos.
In men’s nonconference tennis:
MiraCosta 7, Golden West 2--No. 1 singles player Marcelino Rosales defeated Lars Nagel, 6-2, 5-7, 7-6 (7-3, tiebreaker) and the No. 1 doubles team of Rosales and Peter Kelley defeated Ali Colak and Jon Hoffpauir, 6-4, 6-3, to lead Golden West at MiraCosta.
