ICN Biomedicals, a manufacturer of research chemicals and instruments, said net income increased 30% to $3.9 million in its fiscal 1987, which ended Nov. 30, compared to $3 million a year earlier. Revenue for the year climbed 4% to $42.7 million from $41.1 million. For the fourth quarter, the Costa Mesa-based company had net income of $1.1 million, a 53% increase from $721,000 in the year-earlier period. Revenue for the quarter was $12.2 million, an 11% increase from $11 million. The company attributed the higher earnings to improved profit margins.
