Separate Trial Ordered in Bomb Attempt Case
- Share via
A judge Thursday formally separated the trial of Cheryl Sullenger, a member of the Bible Missionary Fellowship, from trials of six co-defendants in the bombing conspiracy case. Sullenger, 32, of El Cajon, will go on trial alone on March 1.
Her attorney had requested a separate trial from her imprisoned pastor, Dorman Owens, who will go on trial later.
Sullenger, Owens and five others are accused of conspiracy to bomb a clinic that performed abortions. A pipe bomb was found July 27, 1987, at a San Diego facility, but it failed to go off.
