Golden West Plays Host to Cypress

Golden West College, the state’s top-ranked team, plays host to Cypress at 7:30 tonight in a Southern California Regional women’s basketball game. The winner earns a berth in the state tournament March 3-5 at American River College in Sacramento.
Golden West (30-2), the South Coast Conference champion, is led by Jeannine Battaglia, the conference’s most valuable player. Cypress is 24-7.
In another regional playoff game, Fullerton (26-8) is at MiraCosta (23-2) at 7:30 tonight.
