Cam Rast scored six minutes into the second overtime period to cap a dramatic comeback and give Royal High a 4-3 victory over Alta Loma in a Southern Section 4-A Division quarterfinal soccer playoff match Thursday at Alta Loma.
Royal, ranked No. 2 in the 4-A, trailed, 3-0, at halftime. But the Highlanders (24-1-2) launched a furious attack with goals from Matt Rast, Edwin Vela and a penalty kick from goalkeeper Karl Holt.
Rast scored the winning goal from three yards out on a rebound of a Ponze Espinoza shot to lift the Highlanders into the semifinal round Tuesday. Royal faces the winner of today’s quarterfinal match between Palos Verdes and Marina.
