Olympic No-Show

I had always heard that experience was the best teacher. Not so with ABC and the Winter Olympics.
Between the chatting of Jim McKay and the commercials--and, during opening ceremonies, Peter Jennings--I could hardly hear or figure out what was happening, but not to worry--they told you!
Do the people in charge at ABC really think that the average viewer is so lacking in intellect?
Didn’t the people in charge learn from the screams during and after the L.A. Games in 1984? I had (obviously) hoped so.
Well, I have learned--come South Korea and the summer games, I’ll record and watch, with one finger on the mute button, another on the fast forward. Are you listening ABC--or your commercial sponsors?
I doubt it.
