Local News in Brief : Board Accuses Doctor
- Share via
State officials are trying to revoke the license of a West Hollywood plastic surgeon who wrote a book on fat-suction surgery for allegedly botching breast-augmentation operations, sexually abusing patients and filing false insurance claims.
The physician, Dr. Donald L. Weissman, has requested a hearing on the allegations in a 14-page document filed by the state Board of Medical Quality Assurance based on complaints by eight women.
According to the accusation, Weissman told one woman he “would not correct the bad surgical results unless she had sexual intercourse with him.”
His lawyer, Allan Sigel, said that all the board’s accusations were untrue and that many were elicited by suggestive questioning on the part of an investigator.
