Drug War
I couldn’t help but reflect on two events that took place recently. One was the defeat of Contra aid by Congress and the second the tragic drug-related shooting of Drug Enforcement Agency agents in San Marino (Part I, Feb. 6).
I wish that President Reagan and his supporters would display the same amount of intensity and zeal for aiding our law enforcement agencies that are fighting the war on drugs as they do for approval to fund the Contras.
The drug war is not being fought in some distant jungle, but rather in the very streets we live in. “Just Say No” slogans on buttons are not enough!
