College Basketball : Huston’s 38 Help Chapman Come Back

Kelly Huston scored a career-high 38 points Saturday to lead Chapman College to a come-from-behind, 78-67 victory over Cal State Los Angeles at Cal State Los Angeles.
Cal State LA held a 41-37 lead at halftime, but Huston’s free throw put Chapman (16-11, 7-7) up, 62-60, with seven minutes and 50 seconds remaining. Huston scored the next four points to put Chapman ahead for the rest of the game.
In a GSAC men’s game:
Southern California College 104, Point Loma Nazarene 89--Mike Lightfoot led SCC (17-13, 10-4) with 26 points, and Todd Dixon added 25, including 12 in a SCC’s 14-2 run in the final three minutes. John Ekeroth scored 20 points for host Point Loma Nazarene (10-19, 4-10).
In women’s PCAA games:
Cal State Fullerton 72, Hawaii 62--Sophomore guard Jill Maytuch, an El Dorado High School graduate, came off the bench to score 25 points--including four 3-point shots--to lead host Fullerton. Sophomore center Judy Mosley scored 24 points for Hawaii (13-12, 7-9).
Fresno State 75, UC Irvine 57--Lisa Agent led the Bulldogs (15-11, 10-7) with 22 points, and Mary Gainery--a sophomore guard from Mater Dei--scored 12 points for Fresno State. Natalie Crawford led host Irvine (11-13, 9-7) with 18 points.
In womens’ CCAA basketball:
Cal State Los Angeles 77, Chapman 63--Host Cal State Los Angeles (14-12, 6-6) was led by Lupe Quintana, who had 25 points and 12 rebounds. Chapman (14-11, 5-7) was led by Karan Polk with 20 points.
