ABC’s coverage of the Winter Olympics went out with a bang Sunday night, capturing the largest share of audience in the heavily contested 9-11 p.m. time slot, overnight ratings from the A.C. Nielsen Co. showed Monday.
The ratings from Los Angeles and 14 other major cities indicated that ABC attracted 33% of the viewers during those two hours. A new “Perry Mason” movie on NBC drew 25%, while the opening installment of CBS’ two-part “Bluegrass” got 23%.
The Olympics ran second from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday behind CBS’ “60 Minutes,” and again from 8 to 8:30.
National ratings will be released today.
