Henley Group posted a loss of $278 million for 1987, compared to a loss of $426 million in the previous year. The results represent La Jolla-based Henley’s first full year as an independent company. The firm said the results reflect investment losses and high interest expenses for money that it has borrowed to buy much of the 15.7% of Santa Fe Southern Pacific Corp. stock that it owns.
