The Southern Section and Pasadena attorney Charles Johnson did not return to federal court as expected. Instead, the lawsuit that allowed Muir High School of Pasadena to be reinstated into the Southern Section basketball playoffs was dropped, with both sides agreeing it was a moot point now that the Mustangs have been eliminated.
Under the agreement, both sides will pay their own legal fees, and Johnson will reclaim the $5,000 bond he posted recently when Muir won the temporary restraining order to get back in the playoffs.
The Mustangs lost to Santa Barbara, 78-76, in double overtime last Tuesday.
