A tight-lipped Michael Jackson met the press--well, sort of--Tuesday at New York’s City Club to preview his $2-million Pepsi-Cola commercial that will debut on the Grammy Awards telecast tonight. The complete transcript of the Buckled One’s remarks to more than 200 reporters and photographers: “Thank you very much. I’m very honored, very thankful. I love you all. Thank you.” Jackson’s four-part commercial, directed by Joe Pytka, is patterned after the old Saturday afternoon movie serials. Besides performing parts of the song “Bad” in each segment, Jackson performs adventurous stunts while being chased by reporters and fans. Jackson will also appear live on the Grammys to perform “Man in the Mirror.”
