Ahmanson Ideals
As a continuing Ahmanson Theatre subscriber, the most impressive shows I can remember were the opening musical, “Man of La Mancha,” and “The Wiz,” “Two Gentlemen From Verona,” “Dancin’ ” and “Company” (“Mason’s Big Plans for the Ahmanson,” by Sylvie Drake, Feb. 28).
“Company” had such a smashing effect, I went back to it three times. That wonderful cast of 14-plus made the small stage vibrate with energy and Sondheim.
Hey, Marshall Mason, why not revive “Company”? It’s been 17 years already and, if you listen to it, it’s as timely as ever. Why wait for London to do it?
