If Ronald Reagan were still a Hollywood actor, his current reliance upon note cards and detailed scripts for even the simplest official conversations such as “Otis, what are your thoughts?” (revealed in the recent accidental press release) would be accepted by his American audience as a reflection of the weakening mental powers of an aging actor.
But Ronald Reagan, while an aging actor, also happens to be President of the United States. The citizens he has been elected to govern have a right to know what has been suspected since he assumed office--that he is simply not qualified either in background, intellect, or inclination to master the complex issues which are the purview of the presidency.
The real question, and a frightening one, should be “Who is his director, his producer, and his script writer?”
