Wind gusts up to 60 m.p.h. in the mountains and 35 m.p.h. in the coastal and inland areas of San Diego County are expected through this afternoon.
A high-wind warning was issued Wednesday evening for the mountain areas, while a wind advisory will remain in effect through this afternoon for the coastal strip and inland valleys, National Weather Service forecaster Dan Atkin said.
Those in trucks and other large vehicles traveling on Interstate 8 should be aware of the high-wind warnings and are urged to consider alternate routes, Atkin said.
A dry weather front will move into the county this morning, bringing mostly sunny and warmer days to the area. Winds will gradually decrease tonight and Friday.
