MANAMA, Bahrain — Iran fired two more missiles at Baghdad and reported that 19 people were killed Wednesday in Iraqi missile and aircraft attacks.
Iran said it fired the two missiles into Baghdad in retaliation for Iraqi attacks that killed at least 21 people Tuesday in Tehran and the western city of Esfahan.
An Iraqi military spokesman confirmed that at least one Iranian missile hit Baghdad on Wednesday, killing and wounding several civilians. Iraq retaliated within two hours, firing a long-range missile into Tehran, killing 14 people.
Iraqi warplanes also bombed six cities in western Iran. Tehran Radio said those attacks killed five people and wounded several others.
