The Special Olympics will receive the largest single donation in its 20-year history Saturday when a check is presented for the first proceeds from the all-star record album “A Very Special Christmas.” A&M; Records executives Herb Alpert, Jerry Moss and Gil Friesen, and the album’s producer, Jimmy Iovine, will make the award to Special Olympics founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver and president R. Sargent Shriver at the Century Plaza Hotel during the National Assn. of Record Merchandisers convention.
