Changing Phrases

It is interesting to note how the popular words of various administrations reflect the emphasis, direction, and character of the people making up that particular regime.
During Roosevelt’s years in the White House, it was, “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.” During the Kennedy years it was, “Ask not what your country can do for you; but, what you can do for your country.” During the Reagan years it is, “I do not seem to recall. . . .”
