The House gave final congressional approval to legislation authorizing prime federal parkland in Washington for a monument to the 5,000 black patriots who served in the American Revolution. The voice vote by the House followed Senate approval of the bill Feb. 26. The House is expected to approve similar, Senate-backed legislation today that would authorize a site on the National Mall for a memorial to Americans who fought in the Korean War. Private sponsors say they have raised $2.5 million toward a goal of $10 million for the Korean War memorial.
