CBS Inc., still seeking ways to trim its senior ranks, will probably soon offer its second optional early-retirement package in three years. Alice Henderson, a company spokesman, said CBS is weighing several kinds of packages but will likely make the offer within the next several weeks. It will probably be aimed at employees 55 years and older with long experience, although officials have not yet decided how many will be eligible for the package, she said. A knowledgeable source said the offer will probably be extended to 10% to 12% of CBS employees, or roughly 725 to 850 of the broadcaster’s 7,200 employees.
