Manhattan Industries, which makes apparel bearing such famous designer names as Perry Ellis, Anne Klein and Yves St. Laurent, agreed to be purchased by the smaller Salant Corp. in a deal valuing Manhattan at about $100 million. New York-based Salant, which emerged from bankruptcy last year, said it has signed an agreement to acquire Manhattan at $18.50 per common share, $86.53 per Series A preferred share and $60.00 plus accrued dividends per Series C preferred share.
