Nike Inc. reported record earnings of $27.6 million for the third-quarter, six times the net in the 1987 period. Revenues were up 66% to $331.8 million, also a record. Chairman Philip H. Knight said the results were paced by domestic footwear operations, with sales up 87%, and domestic apparel, with sales up 21%. Nike, based in Beaverton, Ore., is a supplier of athletic footwear.
