CS Long Beach Women Face Colorado

Cal State Long Beach, ranked seventh in the country and the West’s second-seeded team in the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. women’s basketball tournament, will play Colorado in a second-round game tonight at 7:30 in the 49er gym.
The 49ers (25-5), who received a first-round bye, are led by guard Penny Toler, who is averaging 22.2 points a game and has scored in double figures in 53 straight games.
Colorado (21-10) defeated Eastern Illinois in a first-round game Wednesday night, 78-72.
If the 49ers win, they will advance to the West Regional March 24 and 26, also at the 49er gym. Iowa is seeded No. 1 in the West.
