Pet Peeve

Doris Day’s heart may be in the right place but her brain is woolly on the subject of animal experimentation (“Doris Day: Singing and Looking for Pet Projects,” by Charles Champlin, March 13).
All vivisection is abusive. Death itself is the ultimate abuse and no, we do not have to go along with it. There is just too much evidence now from doctors, ex-researchers and other experts on this subject for anyone who is concerned about the abuse of animals to remain unclear on how to speak and act toward ending this holocaust.
