The World : Israelis Arrest Hundreds

Israeli troops made overnight raids throughout the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, arresting hundreds of Palestinians in the latest strategy for ending a rebellion in which at least 101 Arabs and an Israeli soldier have been killed. According to Arab press reports, soldiers detained about 500 Palestinians overnight, including 200 from Hebron and the nearby West Bank village of Dura and 80 from Attil, 12 miles north of Nablus. Palestinian witnesses said the army sealed off villages and refugee camps after midnight, then went from house to house with lists of names.
