Denise Crosby (Lt. Tasha Yar) is not the only one who’s left the crew of “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” It seems Gates McFadden, a.k.a. Dr. Beverly Crusher, is also disembarking from the Enterprise to pursue other career choices. Paramount sources tell us that, to cover her absence, it will be made known before the start of the second season that McFadden’s character has transferred to another starship. Paramount hasn’t said yet whether there will be a replacement for Dr. Crusher. However, Wil Wheaton, who plays McFadden’s TV son, Wesley Crusher, will definitely remain on board the Enterprise.
