Allegheny International Inc. said it was confident that when results of a proxy contest waged against current management by a group of dissident shareholders are tallied, current management will continue operating the company. The Pittsburgh-based company would not predict the number of seats it expects to win. A dissident shareholder group has claimed victory in the proxy fight, saying that, based on its analysis of the vote, it thinks that it has won at least five of the seven seats up for reelection on the 13-member board.
