Porn Paper Rack Rule OKd

The City Council approved an ordinance Tuesday requiring all newspaper racks displaying pornographic material to shield the contents from outside view. By a unanimous vote, the council moved to require vendors to obscure salacious reading material.

“We don’t want the little kiddies viewing the contents of the stacks,” City Manager Frank Ruiz said.

He said the ordinance resulted from the desire of city officials to end the open display of revealing material. While the city is unable to end the distribution of the newspapers and singles magazines, he said, “We just don’t want it displayed where everyone can see.”
